Testosterone is the major androgenic hormone. It is responsible for the development of the male external genitalia and secondary sexual characteristics. This test can help find the reason for sexual problems, like reduced sex drive or erectile dysfunction. Symptoms of low testosterone include fatigue, depression, or trouble concentrating, hair loss, muscle mass loss, low sex drive, swollen breasts, erectile dysfunction, and osteoporosis. Knowing your testosterone levels will help you decide if you need to talk to your doctor about testosterone therapy.
DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is the most prevalent steroid hormone in the human body. DHEA serves as a precursor to androgen hormones which regulates the development and preservation of male characteristics. The decline in testosterone can also be linked to decrease levels of DHEA-S. DHEA levels begin to decrease by the age of 30 and continue to gradually decline throughout a man’s life, creating a number of issues that can affect their health and well-being.
High levels of the stress hormone cortisol play a critical role in blocking testosterone's influence. Chronically elevated cortisol levels can produce impotence and loss of libido by inhibiting testosterone production in men.
Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) $39
The PSA test is a blood test used primarily to screen for prostate cancer. The test measures the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. PSA is a protein produced by both cancerous and noncancerous tissue in the prostate. The PSA test can detect high levels of PSA that may indicate the presence of prostate cancer. However, many other conditions, such as an enlarged or inflamed prostate, can also increase PSA levels.
